State Oil and Gas Agency Considers Setbacks

Members of the Colorado Oil and Gas commission wrap up a three day hearing in Denver today – at stake are new rules to oversee a new boom in oil and gas drilling. At the heart of those rules changing how far a drill rig can be from homes and schools. Bente Birkeland has more.

Clay Masters joined the Iowa Public Radio newsroom as a correspondent in 2012.  He covers the statehouse when the legislature is in session, and reports on a variety of topics the rest of the year. Clay is an award-winning multi-media journalist whose radio stories have been heard on various NPR and American Public Media programs. His television documentaries have aired on PBS stations across the country. He’s also a regular contributor to NPR’s arts desk, covering indie music news.

Clay is a Nebraska native and worked for Nebraska Public Radio and Television (NET) before coming to IPR. He was one of the founding reporters of Harvest Public Media, the CPB-funded Local Journalism project covering agriculture in the Midwest.

Confessions of a Heavy Thinker

Confessions of a Heavy Thinker is a short feature created by Angus Stocking, whose intention is to loosen the listener's grip on fixed beliefs, so that more pleasant beliefs can be selected and implemented. In addition to Confessions, Angus also publishes essays on his blog, OtherBS.com, and has contributed essays to BoingBoing.net. His Kindle ebook, also titled Confessions of a Heavy Thinker, is available on Amazon for a very reasonable sum.

Olen Lund Ends 8-year Tenure as County Commissioner

Delta County Commissioner Olen Lund left his county office on Monday. He served two four-year terms, the maximum allowed. During a break in his last regular commissioner’s meeting, Lund took time out to reflect on his tenure with KVNF’s Marty Durlin.
