Longtime listeners recognize Jacki Lyden's voice from her frequent work as a substitute host on NPR. As a journalist who has been with NPR since 1979, Lyden regards herself first and foremost as a storyteller and looks for the distinctive human voice in a huge range of national and international stories.

In the last five years, Lyden has reported from diverse locations including Paris, New York, the backstreets of Baghdad, the byways around rural Kentucky and spent time among former prostitutes in Nashville.

Allison Keyes is an award-winning journalist with almost 20 years of experience in print, radio, and television. She has been reporting for NPR's national desk since October 2005. Her reports can be heard on Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and Weekend Edition Sunday.

Delta Cannery Razed after 92 years

This month marked the end of an era, and it’s unlikely many were even aware of it. The City of Delta tore down the old cannery building—in place since 1920—to make way for a new bypass route for Highway 50. KVNF’s Marty Durlin reports.

Vox Pop: Amendment 64

People on the streets of  Hotchkiss and Paonia weigh in on amendment 64 - a controversial measure on the ballot in Colorado.   Amendment 64 proposes to amend the Colorado Constitution to regulate marijuana like alcohol in the state.  It would allow those over the age of 21 to grow, process, and transport up to 6 marijuana plants with certain restrictions. It would allow the state to enact an excise tax on marijuana sales to be credited to an account for construction of public schools. And finally, it would require the state legislature to enact legislation concerning the growth, processing and sale of industrial hemp.
