NPR's Giles Snyder can be heard on NPR stations nationwide, bringing listeners the latest in national and international developments. His newscasts have been a regular part of NPR News' weekend overnight coverage since June 2004.

Prior to coming to NPR, Snyder worked for sixteen years at West Virginia Public Radio. He held a variety of on-air as well as managerial positions at the station, including operations director, program director, and the morning and local news anchor and reporter. He also spent time as the station's afternoon anchor/reporter.

Snyder has been awarded a variety of state Associated Press Awards for his newscasting role in public radio. He was also a proud member of an award-winning news team in West Virginia.

Feds: Weekly Wages Highest In Arapahoe, Lowest In San Juan

Average weekly wages in the majority of U.S. counties were below the national average of $958, according to new federal data.  

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in 2013 San Mateo County in California had the highest average weekly wage at $1,983 and Delta County in Texas had the lowest with $378. 

Colorado's Arapahoe County had the highest average weekly wage at $1,116 followed by Boulder County where the average wage was a dollar less.

Colorado Unemployment Continues To Fall

The state's unemployment rate fell to 5.5 percent in June. It's below the national average of 6.1 percent. 

The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment said the last time the state's unemployment rate was 5.5 percent or lower was October 2008 when the rate was 5.3 percent. 

Nonfarm payroll jobs increased by over 3,000 from May to June to 2,446,800 jobs, according to the department. Colorado has seen 32 consecutive months of payroll job gains.
