Friday saw the release of a document that’s been a long time in the making. The draft Environmental Impact Statementfor the Bull Mountain Unit just north of Paonia was officially released. The document tries to forecast the effects that the 146 proposed natural gas wells would have.

This is the environmental hurdle that the Master Development Plan has to undergo to be approved.
The statement is huge, clocking in at 700 plus pages. Just released this afternoon, it may take a while to go through.
The impact statement is still a draft. There is now a 45 day comment period for anyone to submit a comment about the statement. That will also include a public meeting at the high school in Paonia, February 10th.
