Voters in Montrose met with U.S. Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.) at a campaign event Tuesday.
Karen Nicholson said she came to hear what his "views about fracking are and what he thinks the next steps are for immigration reform."
Udall gave a campaign update and then took questions from the audience. He was asked to address hydraulic fracturing in Colorado.
“There are places where we should and could use hydraulic fracturing to produce natural gas, but there are other places that we should not," he said. "And for me the areas that are questionable would be wildlife refuges, parks, subdivisions, [and] places like the North Fork where there are other values that are equally important."
The Senator also talked about natural disasters, the NSA, the Affordable Care Act, immigration reform, the Farm Bill, and his campaign.
He will face Republican Cory Gardner in the November general election.
Udall also stopped in Ridgeway to speak with voters on his tour of the Western Slope.
