As the Worm Turns - Tuesday, May 16th

Suze Smith

Host Jill Spears & gardening gurus Lulu Volckhausen & Lance Swigart discuss cutting-edge gardening techniques & take calls from listeners.

How to prepare for cold temperatures that are forecast for the next couple of nights (upper 20s to low 30s in the valleys.)

Calls from Horsefly Mesa and Ouray with questions about high-altitude gardening, and a caller from Hotchkiss wants to grow milkweed to attract Monarch butterflies. DJ Tara drops in with sample wild foliage for the gurus to identify. (Lamb's quarters)

A native Texan, Jeff was bitten by the Colorado "bug" after graduating from UT-Austin. He arrived in Paonia on the October full moon of 1978, and has been involved with KVNF since its earliest days. His first KVNF show was "Sunday Night Live," which featured live musicians performing in the original Garvin Mesa garage/studio.
