KVNF's annual meeting on October 9th will mark the station's 35th anniversary!
The Board of Directors is now accepting nominations for Board positions and for potential changes to the By-Laws of North Fork Valley Public Radio, Inc. All current members of KVNF are eligible for board positions, so if you would like to join this long tradition by running for one of at least three board seats up for election, you must submit a letter of intent and a brief bio to the station before the end of business on Monday, August 25, 2014.
Congratulations to Kevin O'Brien, the winner of our raffle contest for the 7 day, 6 night trip to Fiji!
Kevin and a (very, very special) guest of his choice will be traveling to the tropical paradise of Fiji for a luxurious stay at the Koro Sun Resort, Fiji's premier adventure resort on the island of Vanua Levu.
At Thursday night's annual meeting, KVNF's Ali Lightfoot and Amber McDaniel called Kevin to surprise him with the good news. He said his heart was beating out of his chest!
The Annual Meeting for North Fork Valley Public Radio, Inc. is coming up later in October — Thursday, October 24, 2103, at the Paonia Town Hall, 214 Grand Avenue, at 6 p.m. There will not be board member elections this year as we have two members standing for re-election this year — John Moore, and Kate Zachman, and we had no new nominations for our total of four vacancies. So no election is required at this time. The board will continue to seek qualified candidates to appoint to these vacancies.
US District Court Judge John Kane, (father of KVNF's Executive Director Sally Kane,) was the keynote speaker at the KVNF Annual Meeting, held in Paonia on Oct. 4th, 2012. His subject matter was "Sin, Liberty and Law."
The KVNF Annual Meeting is right around the corner, on Thursday, October 4th at 6pm at Paonia Town Hall. This year there are 3 open seats on the Board. If you are a KVNF member, we hope that you will cast a vote. Your membership and participation is vital, enabling KVNF to remain at the forefront of community radio stations nationwide. There are four nominees to fill three open seats on the KVNF board of directors: Linda Bacigalupi (incumbent), Smyth Boone, Jay Canode (incumbent) and Jill Spears.
