Change. Only six letters, but they string together to create one of the most powerful words in our language, and one of the most potent forces in our world.
Being a person with a strong bent toward etymology, I like to trace the origins of words as a means of unfolding their inner power. Like so many words in the English language, “change” comes to us from the Latin word cambire, meaning to exchange or barter. What a timely metaphor for KVNF’s 2013 Spring Pledge Drive!
On Saturday March 9th, KVNF's Morning news Host Brian Cambria drove through a storm over to Denver to attend the Colorado Broadcaster's Association (CBA) Awards of Excellence Banquet. KVNF had submitted 4 reporting pieces from 2012 for consideration and three of them were chosen.
San Miguel Power Association crews have restored power after Saturday's lightning-caused outage. Our KVMT transmitter at 89.1 FM is back on the air. Reminder: today is the last day of the Fall Pledge Drive. Call 527-4868 or 1-866-KVNF-NOW to make your contribution to KVNF Community Radio!
Friday pm - Our KVMT repeater (89.1 FM) is off the air due to a power outage. San Miguel Power is working to restore service; we expect it to be off until at least 3:30 pm. This also affects listeners in the Grand Valley, as the 99.1 translator repeats the 89.1 signal.
Please bear with us - you can listen online right here at KVNF.org.
The "wooden, dancing, mannequin, puppet guy" near Jeff's desk in the KVNF office has joined the cause! In a mysterious turn of events, he showed up yesterday with a hand-written note of his very own, proclaiming that he, "Will dance for pledges"! Who could turn down such a generous offer of support from our loyal friend.
Make a pledge! See him dance! Maybe a little stop motion animation? For the right price?
US District Court Judge John Kane, (father of KVNF's Executive Director Sally Kane,) was the keynote speaker at the KVNF Annual Meeting, held in Paonia on Oct. 4th, 2012. His subject matter was "Sin, Liberty and Law."
