One of the pre-eminent practitioners of 'live-looping', Zach Deputy’s one-man show weaves a tapestry of instrumentation and voices in an ever-evolving, improvised arrangement that is ultimately based on a composition but allowed to breathe with the audience.

Zach Deputy’s show transforms clubs and open fields alike into sweaty dance parties for fans of R&B, soul, jam, Caribbean music and electronica.

Zach performed at Avalanche Dairy outside Paonia, Colorado for an adoring audience of goats.

Talkin Music: History of Rocksteady

Ali Lightfoot speaks with Betty Palik,  a producer for the documentary film "Rocksteady – The Roots of Reggae."   This documentary tells the story of the Rocksteady era which was from 1966 to 1969 in Jamaica  and considered by music experts to be the golden age of Jamaican music.  A blend of ska, soul and R&B, Rocksteady developed the rhythms, prominent bass line, beautiful vocals and socially conscious lyrics that became Reggae.

Melodians at the Paradise Theater, March 14th

KVNF Community Radio presents a Roots Reggae and Rocksteady Revival featuring the incredible Melodians at the Paradise Theater in Paonia on Saturday, March 14th, at 8 PM.  The Melodians are one of Jamaica's greatest Rocksteady groups, cutting a series of classic singles during the late '60s and early '70s that included the internationally famed "Rivers of Babylon" and "Sweet Sensation."

Supreme Court Rules In Favor Of Air Marshal Whistleblower

Former air marshal Robert MacLean blew the whistle after he was informed that missions on overnight, long-distance flights were being canceled. The announcement came just days after air marshals were warned of terrorist threats.

The U.S. Supreme Court, by a 7-to-2 vote, ruled in favor of a fired air marshal on Wednesday. In a decision of great interest to federal employees and air travelers, the court said that the air marshal's alert about safety concerns was shielded by the federal whistleblower protection law.
