Region 10

  • This week Gavin Dahl is joined by Eva Veitch, director of community living services at the nonprofit Region 10, and Sarah Curtis, executive director at All Points Transit. They talk about a wide range of programs supporting older adults and providing transportation solutions across several area counties. Plus, All Points Transit has a Brews and Bites event coming up in July at Big B's Delicious Orchards, and their annual Oktoberfest event at the new Montrose amphitheater.
  • May is known as Mental Health Awareness Month and Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, and it is also Older Americans Month. This year the theme is Age My Way. Gavin Dahl asked Eva Veitch, director of community living services at the council of governments known as Region 10, to tell us more.
  • The Town of Paonia's Board endured three abrupt resignations in the past four months. Kate Redmond reports on Thursday, trustees discussed slowing down and codifying how board resignations happen. Plus, schools have become contentious. COVID regulations and mask mandates led to contested school board elections. Districts have also been a battle ground when it comes to discussions of race, LGBTQ rights, and mental health. Districts face challenges from parents claiming they have broken the law and are liable for damages. Now, as KOTO's Julia Caulfield reports, Telluride School District is part of that conversation.
