Introduction to Plein Air PaintingA Plein Air Bootcamp for artists wishing to learn the how’s and whys of painting outside.
When: June 28th, 10AM-3PM
Where: The Creamery Arts Center
Cost: $80 + $20 Material fee paid directly to instructor
Learn to use Plein Air (painting outside from life) to enhance and inform your studio art practice no matter what medium you use. This time honored practice is one of the best ways to quickly advance and refine your painting and drawing skills. In the morning, we will learn about techniques, easel setups and supplies needed for Plein Air painting. In the afternoon, we will take our new knowledge and put it into practice outside. This class is best suited for oil color, watercolor, gouache or pastel artists with some studio experience. If you’ve always wanted to learn to paint outside, but have been intimidated by it, this is the class for you! I will provide water soluble oils and gouache to experiment with outside as well as other basic materials. Please bring your own apron, sunhat and sun protection, water bottle and wear comfortable clothing appropriate for being outside for several hours. Limited to 8 participants.

The highlight of the day is the infamous “Junk of the Unc” race in which boaters maneuver their craft, constructed from scrap materials not intended for river travel, through whitewater rapids and others’ junk, trying to keep it all intact for the 0.5 mile finish line.
Join us on June 28th and 29th, 2025, at the CSN Horn Theater for Elemental Dance Company's highly anticipated second annual mental health charity showcase. This inspiring event will feature a captivating blend of contemporary dance performances designed to raise awareness and foster dialogue around mental health issues within the dance community and beyond.
In addition to the performances, we will host a special raffle before each show from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. All proceeds from the raffle will go to the Athletes Against Anxiety and Depression Foundation, supporting their vital work in promoting mental health and well-being for athletes and the broader community.
Through the power of movement, storytelling, and artistry, this event aims to inspire change, provide support, and bring mental health awareness to the forefront.
