Ariana Brocious

Ariana Brocious was the News Director and primary news producer/reporter at KVNF from 2010-2013. She was vital to the development of the high quality news reporting that listeners have grown to expect from KVNF.  In addition to compiling the daily local newscast and contributing to KVNF’s public affairs coverage, she regularly reported on natural resources, public lands, agriculture and economic development.  She was a great asset to KVNF and is sorely missed.  E-mail: ari (at) kvnf.org

A hearing officer is making no recommendation about whether to approve or deny a license for the Pinyon Ridge uranium mill in western Montrose County. Instead, he's leaving the decision to state regulators. Retired judge Richard Dana submitted his six-page ruling to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment yesterday. Business is booming at cattle sales yards throughout Colorado – but that’s not so good for ranchers. Last year's dry winter combined with an ongoing drought are forcing many ranchers to sell more than they like.
