  • Utility rates for Delta customers are going up this year, according to reporting in the Delta County Independent. City council unanimously approved the overall 7.7 percent hike during the regularly scheduled January 7, 2025 meeting.
  • Next Wednesday, January 22nd Colorado Department of Transportation will host an open house in Hotchkiss to address the Highway 92 Rogers Mesa safety improvement project. The meeting will take place at 4:30 pm at Heritage Hall located at the Delta County Fairgrounds.
  • Delta resident William Tedrow recently announced his candidacy for Colorado’s House District 54 for the 2026 election. The Republican is seeking to replace term-limited Rep. Matt Soper, who served the district since 2018.
  • For nearly thirty years, Railroad Car 211 transported people and goods to and from the remote mountain town of Lake City, until the service stopped in 1933.   • Governor Jared Polis granted 22 pardons last month. He also commuted the life sentences of four people - two were men convicted of murder in the 1990s.
