This week, residents and business owners from the North Fork Valley returned to Washington, D.C. in hopes of stopping the Bureau of Land Management proposal to lease 20,000 acres for oil and gas development.
Once again, the North Fork Valley is back on the table for oil and gas development. Despite months of widespread opposition from the community, on Friday, the Bureau of Land Management announced that it plans to offer about 21,000 acres for sale nearPaonia, Hotchkiss and Crawford in February.
